DUBAI: Passengers flying with Emirates today are in for a fragrant surprise.
In celebration of International Tea Day, the airline is gifting a special edition tea box to all customers on flights lasting over 2.5 hours.
The giveaway highlights Emirates’ 33-year collaboration with iconic Sri Lankan brand Dilmah Tea – a partnership that has brewed over 33 million cups annually in the skies.

The complimentary gift box features three of Dilmah’s most celebrated blends. These include the Emirates Signature Tea – Dombagastalawa FBOP1 infused with rose, almond, and ginger – designed for refined palates. Also inside are Moroccan Mint Green Tea, prized for its calming notes, and a joyful Ceylon Tea with Strawberry. The artisan leaf teas are handpicked, packed at source, and reflect Dilmah’s ethical, producer-owned ethos.
Luxury in the sky
First and business class passengers can explore tea in more indulgent ways today. Emirates lounges worldwide are offering cocktails and mocktails crafted using Dilmah teas. In Dubai lounges, guests can try an exclusive Dilmah Elixir, paired with fragrant coconut vanilla cake, zesty lemon cake and a rich apple tart.
Onboard, First Class travellers enjoy a rotating menu of six gourmet teas daily, from Earl Grey and Sencha Green Extra Special to the signature blend. Business class customers can choose from five luxury leaf options, while those in premium economy and economy can opt for Ceylon or natural green tea.
Tea tips
From May 15 to 31, passengers in first and business class on UK-bound flights from Dubai are receiving exclusive tea pairing tips. Emirates cabin crew are trained to recommend pairings, such as green tea with sushi or soft cheeses, and black tea with beef, desserts, or hard cheeses. Floral teas like chamomile pair best with citrus dishes, such as the airline’s vegan zucchini tart.
